James Gooding

James Elroy Gooding was surrounded by his family when he went to be with his Lord on November 27, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. James was born to James Eddie Gooding and Susan (Shepherd) Gooding in Gravette, Arkansas. James met and married Jo McGhee on September 05, 1986, and together they had three children; sons James Eric and Joshua and daughter Jennifer “Princess.”

James loved the simple life, and when he wasn’t busy providing for his family, he enjoyed fishing out on the lake, or spending time in his tree stand waiting for the perfect deer. Still, nothing could compare to the love he had for his wife, children, and grandchildren. James always kept his family close to his heart and he will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the community.

James is preceded in death by his son Joshua Cody, and his parents James Gooding and Susan Gooding.

James is survived by his wife of 36 years Jo Gooding, son James Eric, daughter Jennifer “Princess” and husband Tyler Hughes. Grandchildren Jaeleigh, Jaxton, Haisley, Hayes, and sisters Rosetta Brown and husband Perry, and Joetta Hashman.

A memorial service will be held at Freewill Baptist Church in Afton, Oklahoma on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 12pm. Services are under the care of Worley-Luginbuel in Grove, Oklahoma
