Funeral Services for retired Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Albert Burlin Daley of Grove, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Foundation Freewill Baptist Church in Grove with Pastor Sam Smith officiating.
CSM Daley died on November 30, 2024, and burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Lawton, OK. Albert Daley was born on December 24, 1943, in Oppenheim, New York. He attended school at Stratford and Middleville, New York and was a graduate of Pike’s Peak Community College, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He married Laqueta Daley on January 11, 2011, in Grove, Oklahoma. He was a 22-year veteran of the United States Army retiring in April 1983, and served two tours in Vietnam. His awards include a Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal with two stars, two Meritorious Service Medals and several service awards. CSM Daley was inducted into the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara in 1978 and commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel in 1981. After retiring from the Army, he served as the Honorary Regimental Sergeant Major for the 27th Field Artillery Regiment from 1992 through 1996 and for the 5th Field Artillery Regiment from 1997 through 2015. He worked as a Civil Servant at Fort Sill for 20 years after his retirement. His awards include two awards for the Superior Civilian Service Awards. He had been a Grove resident since 2008.
Survivors include wife of the home, daughter Detta and husband Ronald Nelson of Winfield, MO; daughter Debra and husband Ronald Bicker of Troy, MO; daughter Melissa and husband Lyle Alsobrook of Mesquite, TX; son Douglas and wife Sandra Ferguson of Lawton, OK; son Jeffrey and wife Gia Ferguson of Wichita Falls, TX; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings, and 1 grandson.
