Alta Mcdonald

Alta M. McDonald, age 91 and formerly of Bartlesville, Oklahoma passed away at 7:20 PM, January 11, at Sterling House in Edmond, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 23, in the chapel of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Interment will follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. McDonald was born in Verden, Oklahoma, on June 24, 1923, the daughter of Matthew and Nova (Gillespy) Davis. During her childhood, she moved with her family to rural Bartlesville area and graduated from Ramona High School. She was married to Charles A. (Chuck) McDonald, Jr. on July 20, 1941. They were married 72 years. They made their home in Bartlesville until moving to Edmond in 2011. Mrs. McDonald was a homemaker, active in her children's schools and church. She enjoyed playing bridge and traveling with First Baptist's Young at Heart group. Mrs. McDonald is survived by her children, Charles L. McDonald of Gainesville, Florida, Larry McDonald and his wife, Margaret, of Bartlesville, daughter, Becky Rader and her husband, Lloyd, of Edmond and Robert McDonald and his wife, Alicia, of Tulsa; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She has one surviving sister and brother-in-law, Sara (Davis) and Gale Black of Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, on January 24, 2014.
