Alvin Liston

Alvin M. Liston, age 78, and longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Alvin Merle Liston was born on November 5, 1934 in Nowata, Oklahoma. He was the son of John Liston and Jean Milford. He grew up in Nowata and received his formal schooling there. Alvin worked as an electrical engineer for the firm of Stan Norfleet Zenith TV Sales for many years before his retirement. He married Janice Sue Werts on June 24, 1960 in Bartlesville and they have made their home here since that time. Alvin attended New Harmony Baptist Church and later attended the Baptist Temple of Bartlesville. He loved to fish and hunt, especially quail hunting. He was the neighborhood handyman and could fix anything. However, the thing that he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family. Alvin was preceded in death by his brother, Don Liston. He is survived by his wife, Janice, of the family home; son, Chris Liston of Bartlesville; three grandchildren, Christian Jade Liston, Ashlyn Belief Liston and Cannon Ridge Liston; two brothers, Dean Listen and his wife, Will, of rural Washington County, and Charles "Les" Liston of Dewey, Oklahoma.
