Benjamin Funeral Service - Barbara Ruth Warren (72) of Nowata passed from this life April 26, 2014, in Tulsa. She was born July 3, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas, to Shirley Ray Close and Ruth Irene (Brown) Close. She graduated from High School in Hutchison, Kansas and continued her education for the remainder of her life earning several degrees. On December 13, 1974 she married Glenn Arle Dean Warren in Independence, Kansas and in 1997 they moved to Nowata from Great Bend, Kansas. Barbara enjoyed painting, studying her genealogy, and doing crafts. She was a faithful member of the Jehovah's Witness Church in Nowata where she enjoyed canvasing door to door to spread the message. Barbara will be missed by all who knew her. Preceding Mrs. Warren in death are her parents, Shirley Ray Close and Ruth Irene Close; husband, Glenn Arle Dean Warren; children, Dorothy Vincent, Bernice Warren, Steve Vincent, Dale Warren, Susan Vincent, Scott Vincent, Jaimie Warren; and one brother, Fred King. Survivors include her step-father, Erwin Leeper; children, Randy Warren and wife Ancilla, of Carnegie, Oklahoma, Sheryl Vincent and husband David Sheahan, of New Port Richey, Florida, Paul Hicks, of Nowata, Oklahoma, Jim Hicks and wife Luz, of Talala, Oklahoma, Wendell Hicks and wife Angela, of Nowata, Oklahoma, Vernon Hicks and wife Tracy, of Nowata, Oklahoma; 42 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; siblings, Nancy Proffitt, and David Leeper; many other relatives and a host of friends.
