BENJAMIN FUNERAL SERVICE...............Beatrice Velva York 88, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 24, 2019. Beatrice was born in Whittenburg, TX on January 19, 1931 to Walter and Dessie (Spears) Martin. She grew up in Childers, Ok and attended Childers School system where she received her education. On August 26, 1956, she married the love of her life Lloyd L. York in Bartlesville, OK. She was a former member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene in Wichita, Kansas and Happy Hill Church in Nowata, Oklahoma. Beatrice was a woman of many talents and could do anything that she set her mind to, she even taught herself how to cook. She always made sure her family was well taken care of even when her mom was in the hospital. She was a very crafty lady and enjoyed cooking, quilting, crochet, puzzles, and games. Beatrice is one of a kind and had a heart of gold that loved her family, friends unconditionally and will be missed by all who knew her.

Beatrice is survived by her daughter Scotty Strickland and husband James of Petersburg, MI, one grandchild Travis Strickland of Plymouth, MI

Beatrice is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Dessie (Spears) Martin and two sister Joann Bates, Ruth Barnett, and three infant siblings.
