Benton James Parrish, 17 year old Grove resident, passed from this life on November 17, 2022. Benton was born in Chanute, KS on December 20, 2004. He worked at McDonald’s and was recently promoted to Crew Trainer. Benton enjoyed life. He enjoyed his job, he enjoyed being around people, and was always up for an adventure. He loved being outside whether that be kayaking, hanging out on the lake, riding his bike, riding four wheelers, or playing football. If he wasn’t outside, then he was gaming. Grand Theft Auto was his favorite. He also enjoyed collecting coins. Benton’s last act of love was to spread hope and life to others by being an organ donor.
Though gone from this life all too soon, his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family. Benton is survived by his parents James and Shannon Parrish and Heather Knight, siblings: Bailey and Terrah Parrish and Grady James Martin, grandparents: James C. and Claudia Parrish, Lynn and Robert Spragg, Susan and Robin Mishler, Steve Simmons, and Suzanna and Jim Williams, great grandmother Beatrice Utley, aunts and uncles: Shanna Taylor, Andre Taylor, Trey and Hannah Spragg, Sage and Morgan Spragg, Shannon and Kendra Spragg, and Nikki and Cliff Hartner, as well as numerous cousins.
