Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK 918-786-2261....Betsy Anna Ross Roe peacefully passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 in her home after a long illness of COPD. Betsy was born in Shidler, Oklahoma on January 17, 1930. Betsy and James Roe married in 1948 and moved to Grove in 1951. Besides being a homemaker, she worked many jobs in the community including Graham's Chicken House Restaurant, Miami Savings & Loan. She was elected Grove City Clerk, served on the Delaware County Election Board, Served as Methodist Church Treasurer, worked for Worley Funeral Home as bookkeeper and secretary, and also volunteered for many local community service groups. Betsy enjoyed many activities with her friends including playing bridge, ballroom and jitterbug dancing with James, as well a traveling the country with her brothers, sisters and friends. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies and baked for many friends and family. She is survived by son David & wife Diana of Grove, daughter Cheryl and husband Lamire Moore of Fayetteville Arkansas, grandson Jesse & fiancé Mesha of Fayetteville, granddaughter Kim and husband Craig of Muskogee, great granddaughter Lydia of Fayetteville, great grandson Cameron, of Muskogee & Montea, of Claremore, brother Bob Ross & wife Juanita of Kaw City, OK and special friend Leo Walker of Claremore. She was preceded in death by her husband James in 1999 and grandson, John in 2007. Memorial Services will be at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM. After the services, friends and family are invited to the home in Grove for a toast to Betsy with wine, cheese and refreshments to celebrate her life she enjoyed on her patio.
