Betty Louise Adams, 73-year-old Nowata resident, passed away at 10:25p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at her home while surrounded by her loving family. Betty Louise Adams was born December 19, 1932 in Nowata, Oklahoma to C.W. Kays and Mary Maggard-Kays. She grew up and attended schools in Nowata. On July 10, 1955, she married Melvin Adams. Ms. Adams loved collecting porcelain dolls and stuffed animals. She also had a large collection of angels. Ms. Adams spent a great deal of time reading her Bible and attending church services. She also enjoyed watching old western shows on television. Attending the Class of 1952 reunion was also a special time for her. But perhaps what brought her the most enjoyment in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ms. Adams is survived by two daughters, Nancy Lou Adams of Nowata and Brenda K. Adams of Tahlequah; by two sons, Tim R. Adams of Bartlesville and Ronnie E. Adams of Nowata; by her husband, Melvin of Bartlesville; by a daughter-in-law, Mary L. Adams of Nowata; by two brothers, Jerry and his wife Margaret Kays of Tulsa and Charles and his wife Maurien Kays of Sand Springs; by two grandsons, Charlee and Jeffrey; by a granddaughter, Kaylee; by several nieces and nephews; and by special friends, Carolyn, Becky, Jesse, and Shirley. Ms. Adams was preceded in death by her parents, and by a sister, Monzell who died at the age of 3.
