Betty Medearis

Betty Jo Medearis, age 75 of Bluejacket, passed away Monday, May 03, 2010. Betty was born on October 27, 1934 to Dan and Alice (Lamb) Martin. She lived in the Vinita area most of her life. Betty married John Medearis on October 11, 1949 in Miami, OK. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of the Craig County Baptist Church. She loved crafts, westerns, gardening, collecting roosters, and was a great cook for all the family get togethers. Betty Jo is survived by two sons, Johnny Medearis and wife Deb and Jack Medearis and wife Carol all of Bluejacket, two daughters Donna Lee and friend Luis Ortiz of Miami and Brenda Parmen and husband James of Bluejacket, eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, sister Helen Blevins of Bluejacket, three sister-in-laws: Billy Martin of Bluejacket, Evelyn Koesler of Vinita, and Toots West of Montana, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, of fifty-one years, John Medearis, parents, six brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with Rev. Claud Strong officiating. Interment will follow at Bluejacket Cemetery.
