Betty Nigh

Betty Jane Nigh, passed away at her home in Jay, OK, on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the age of 78. Jane was born April 14, 1934 in Labette County, KS, the daughter of the late John E. Lackey, Jr. and Ruth L. (Holten) Lackey. Betty attended school in southern Kansas and Welch, OK. Betty married Billie Dean Rexwinkle and to this union they had seven children. The family moved around the country to various states while Billie worked in the aircraft industry. Later in life Jane married Tom Nigh. Jane enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking, where everyone recalls her specialty in cinnamon rolls. Most of all Jane loved her family and friends, especially her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Nigh; parents; and one brother Gerald E. Lackey. She is survived by her children: Johnie Rexwinkle of Edna, KS, Jimmie Rexwinkle and his wife Kim of Edna, KS, Danny Rexwinkle and his wife Kathy of Nowata, OK, Donnie Rexwinkle and his wife Darlene of Edna, KS, Debbie Taylor and her husband Hardy of El Reno, OK, Delbert Rexwinkle and his wife Penny of East Lynne, MO, and Delores Frank of Afton, OK; step-son Ronnie Nigh and his wife Sheila of Afton, OK; 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; former husband Billie Dean Rexwinkle; and numerous other relatives and friends. The celebration of life service will be held at the Pine Island RV Resort in Zena, OK on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 2PM with Jim Pelley, presiding.
