Wichita, KS - Beulah Belle (Snell) Powers, 86, died Tuesday night, July 11, 2006 at Presbyterian Manor, Wichita, Kansas. Beulah was born March 6, 1919 near Southwest City, Missouri to Alexander Snell and Rachel (Silversmith) Snell. She grew up on a farm near Southwest City and after high school, attended Haskell Institute, Lawrence, Kansas. As a young woman, Beulah taught arts & crafts to children and lived with a family serving as a nanny. She married Frank E. Powers on April 6, 1941 in Delaware County, Oklahoma. Frank joined the military & fought during World War II. After Frank's honorable discharge, the Powers family moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1950, where he worked for Cargill Industries as a flour miller. Mr. Powers preceded his wife on June 17, 2004. Buelah was a homemaker and member of Victory Praise Fellowship, Wichita, Kansas. Survivors are two sons, Sam Powers and his wife, Alice of Haysville, Kansas, Ralph Powers and his wife, Barbara of Wichita; two daughters, Leatha Sutter and her husband, Steve of Wichita and Reva Powers, also of Wichita; eleven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Snell of Grove, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; by a son, Franklin Powers in January of 2006 atnd by four brothers, Albert, John, Richard and George Snell and by three sisters, Ethel Steen, Cynthia Noble and Celia Snell. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Butler Baptist Church, southeast of Grove, Oklahoma with Pastors Steve Sutter, Kenny Powers and Kevin Powers, officiating. Interment will be in Snell Cemetery under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
