Bobby Joe Tanner age 65, best known to family and friends as “Jass” passed away on February 7th 2025, in Fayetteville Arkansas. Bobby was born on July 9th, 1959, in Grove, Oklahoma. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Throughout his life Bobby found joy in football, music, fishing and building things. His loved hobbies included fishing, and swimming, making people laugh and he had a particular passion for hunting and collecting arrowheads which connected him to both nature and his Native American history. Bobby was proud owner of Tanner Roofing.
Bobby leaves behind a loving family including his daughters Tammy Dawn Sampson (Tanner), Lynnie Jo Tanner. Extended daughters Mallory Dawn Tuttle and Tonya Marie Chesney also survive him. His legacy continues through his brothers Robert Tanner, Leonard Tanner and Rick Tanner; and Sister Brenda Curtis. Among extended siblings Bonnie Tanner, Donna Tanner and Ann Tanner. Bobby was a proud grandfather to Brooklyn Sampson, Logan Tuttle, Baylee Lewis and Casey Long. His parents, John Leonard Tanner and Betty Jean (Morgan) Tanner, as well as his siblings Mary Garner, Jerry Tanner, John “Doccy” Tanner and Burt Jackson preceded him in death.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Graveside services will follow at O'Field Cemetery in Jay, Oklahoma.
