Bobby Bruce Robinson, age 92, a renowned High School Basketball Coach, passed away on March 5, 2024, in Grove, Oklahoma. Born in Elk County, Kansas, on April 20, 1931, Bobby dedicated his life to the sport of basketball and left a lasting impact on the community.
Bobby's passion for basketball was evident throughout his illustrious career. He was not only inducted into the High School Basketball Hall of Fame in Baxter Springs, Kansas but also excelled as a high school coach, guiding and inspiring numerous young athletes over the years. He was a proud graduate of Kansas University, earning a Bachelor's degree. Bobby proudly served in the United States Airforce.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bobby will be remembered for his vibrant personality. He enjoyed playing poker and held a deep appreciation for all things related to basketball, particularly supporting Kansas University, and Oklahoma City Thunder teams.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Ruth Patterson-Robinson, along with his three children: Terry Robinson of Florida, Bobby Jr. Robinson of Missouri, and Jeff Robinson of Oklahoma, his stepchildren; Rick and Roger O’Brien of Oklahoma, and grandson Stone Robinson of Oklahoma, step-granchildren; Amber Benson, Ryan Kenney, Rodney O’Brien, Tyler Wellhausen, Misty Henderson, Blake O’Brien, Lindsey O’Brien-Head, Keeli Rae Dasilva, Logan O’Brien. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers LeRoy, Beryl, John and sister Charlene, stepdaughters Donna Kenney and Janet Stouffer.
Bobby Bruce Robinson will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that he has left an indelible mark on those whose lives he touched.
