Carl Jay Earp, 58 year old Jay, Oklahoma resident passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011 following an extended illness. Carl Jay was born in Ulysis, Kansas on August 4, 1952 to John and Vivian (McClusky) Earp. Carl graduated from Jay High School in 1969. He worked most of his life as a heavy equipment operator. Carl Jay was an avid hunter and fisher, loved to tinker in carpentry and also enjoyed riding horses. Carl Jay was preceded in death by his father John Thomas Earp and step-father Leon Scott, as well as his grandparents J.B. and Jane Earp, and Carl and Maud McClusky. Carl Jay is survived by his wife Ann of the home, mother Vivian Scott, sons Casey J. Earp and wife Amy of Joplin, Missouri, and Carl J. Earp Jr. of Grove, Oklahoma, daughter, Christal Duffield and husband Jimmy of Eucha, Oklahoma, brother Mike Earp and wife Ann of Jay, Oklahoma, sisters Nina K. Cooper and husband Bill, of Southwest City, Missouri, and Mary Jane Law and Husband Gary, of Jay Oklahoma. Carl Jay is also survived by five grandchildren, Dakota Duffield, Christian Duffield, Carley Duffield, Damien Duffield, and Cade Earp, as well as numerous nieces and nephews A memorial service for Carl Jay Earp will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday July 12, 2011 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. Online Condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Carl Jay's name to Good Shepherd Hospice Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma.
