Carol Medearis

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555. Carol Jean (Bates) Medearis, 58 year old Bluejacket resident, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at her home, following a short battle with cancer. She was born on September 15, 1958 in Nowata, the youngest of five children born to Chaney and Jewel (Kidd) Bates. Carol graduated from White Oak High School. She married Jack Medearis on July 16, 1976 at Timpson Chapel near White Oak. Carol loved to ride motorcycles, shoot archery, spend time with her family and friends and attend her grandchildren's activities. She was employed by Advance America Loan Company at the time of her death. Those preceding her in death include: her parents, brother, Jack Bates, sister, Lina Roberts, her mother and father in-law, John and Betty Medearis. The surviving family includes; her husband Jack of the home, son Daniel Medearis of Bluejacket, daughter, Katrina Williams and husband Aaron of Bluejacket; grandchildren, Kaylani Medearis, Brock and Kenzie Williams; her sister, Marilyn Craig of Claremore, brother, Dale Bates and wife Kim of Big Cabin; brother in-law, Ken Roberts of Claremore and sister in-law, Helen Bates of Grandlake; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday evening February 2, 2017, at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The graveside service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Timpson Chapel Cemetery, with Pastor Don Carden officiating. Family prefers memorials be made to the Cancer research program of your choice in Carol's memory. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
