Carolyn Crawford

Carolyn went to have lunch with Jesus, family and friends at noon, Friday, July 27, 2007, just ten days after her 57th birthday. She was born in the Bay Area of California, on July 17, 1950, to George and Alena Niday. Carolyn loved teaching. She taught Sunday school at a very early age and held a Masters degree in education from the University of Arkansas. She taught for 23 years at Kansas High School before retiring this year, while losing her battle with cancer. Carolyn worked many hours as the secretary for the Lady Elks and was a charter member of Group 33 , a civic minded motorcycle group. She was also a member of the Lady Moose and was a life member of the Retired Teachers Association. Carolyn and Mel were married on June 24, 1978. Their son, Patrick was born in May of 1980. Patrick was her pride and joy and the highlight of her life. She also loved her extended family very much and treated them as her own. She is survived by her husband, Mel, mother Alena Niday, Patrick and Beth Crawford of Jay Oklahoma, Ronald and Shannon Crawford of Jay, Rod Crawford of Zena, Robin and Tim William of Vinita Oklahoma, Ricky and Rhonda Crawford of Stillwater, Oklahoma, twelve grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and soon, one great-grandson. A visitation and memory service will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma, at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2007. Graveside funeral services will be held at Zena Cemetery, in Zena, Oklahoma on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Honorary pallbearers will include Group 33 and the Kansas School Teachers. Worley- Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove,Oklahoma is in charge of arrangements
