Charles Hudson

Charles Curtis Hudson, 80 year old long time Big Cabin resident, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Tulsa after an extended illness. He was born on May 21, 1934 in Bluejacket to Earl E. and Lelia (Kincade) Hudson. After high school Curtis went into the United States Army serving his country from November 1956 to November 1958. In 1954 Curtis was baptized and joined the First Christian Church of Big Cabin, where he was an active member most of his life and served as a Deacon many years. On December 31, 1956 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Alice Trundle at Big Cabin. Curtis retired from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation after 24 years of employment, he was a supervisor at his time of retirement. Curtis loved music, he played many instruments, including the guitar, mandolin, banjo and other stringed instruments. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and being with family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Chris Hudson, a daughter in-law Lori Hudson, brothers Larry and Richard Hudson; parents in-law, Wayne and Ruth Trundle, Richard's wife Odell Hudson; sister in-law Ermadeen Hudson; and a niece Deborah Pitts. The family includes; his wife Elizabeth of the home, daughters, Carol Sherman and husband Ronald of Tulsa, Cindy Hudson of Douglass, Kansas; a son, Charles Hudson and wife Shirley of Big Cabin; two brothers, Paul Hudson and wife Betty of Catoosa, Johnny Hudson and wife Sherry of Verdigris; a sister, June Pitts and husband J. C. of Verdigris; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister in-laws, Nancy Hudson and Nancy Knittle; brother in-law Eldon Knittle; numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral will be held on Monday January 5, 2015 at 10:30 am at the First Christian Church in Big Cabin, with Pastor Max Adams officiating. Interment will follow at the Big Cabin Cemetery.
