Claude Carpenter

Claude Leon Carpenter, 90 years old, Grove, Oklahoma resident, passed away Sunday December 11, 2011. Claude was born on September 18, 1921 in Montgomery County, Kansas to Orville Carpenter and Bessie Webber, Claude joined the United States Marine Corps after high school and served his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Claude enjoyed baseball, fishing, and spending time with his friends and family, he looked forward to going to the Marine Corps reunions. Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Ninave Frazier Carpenter, parents, Orville Carpenter and Bessie Webber, and siblings, Ruth and Elmer. Claude is survived by a son, Gregory Carpenter, a daughter, Claudia Brewer, and husband Truman, brothers, Gerald Carpenter, Alva Carpenter, James Carpenter, and Donald Carpenter, a sister, Lila Carroll, three grandchildren, Amber, Clint and Eric, and two great grandchildren, Emily and Hudson. Memorial services for Claude will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
