Dane Stanbery

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK 918-786-2261. Christopher Dane Stanbery, a life long resident of Delaware County, passed away at his home in Jay, OK on Friday, January 24, 2014 at the age of 32. Dane was born on February 27, 1981 in Tulsa, OK, the son of Dana L. Stanbery and Carol J. (Maples) Stanbery. Dane attended school in Grove and Jay where he was a good athlete, playing football, basketball, baseball, and wrestling. After school, Dane became a heavy equipment operator and also worked hydro testing pipelines. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #627of Tulsa, OK. Dane also worked for gas and oil companies as an inspector on the pipeline and also traveled the U.S. for his work. Dane had a great joy and passion for hunting and fishing and being outdoors especially bow hunting where he won the I.B.O. State Championship. He enjoyed riding four wheelers, hunting for arrowheads, camping, boating, riding horses and loved spending time with his dogs, family and friends. He had a smile that would make you grin. He would do anything to help a friend and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lavon and Leona Stanbery. He is survived by his parents: Dana Lee Stanbery and Carol Joyce (Maple) Stanbery; sister Melissa Lynn Stanbery Prine; nephew William Robert Prine; niece Katelyn Marie Prine; grandparents: Joyce and Tom Maples; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Mt. Hermon Church on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 2PM with Mr. Doug Rainbolt, presiding. The burial will follow at the Butler Cemetery in Grove, OK. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 6PM to 8PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Casket bearers will be Billy Crawford, Buck Maples, Jason Carnell, Trin Barrows, Tyler Hulion, and Willy Prine.
