Benjamin Funeral Service -- Nowata, Oklahoma ---- 918-273-2700 Funeral services for Darlene Rose are 10:00 A.M, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Wendell Abbott officiating. Interment will follow at Bartlesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will be receiving friends Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Beatrice Darlene Rose, 85, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Nowata. She was born July 9, 1931 in Big Creek, Oklahoma to Marvin Arthur and Arzada (Casebeer) Boyd. Later they divorced and her mother married Carl Sequichie who raised Darlene from the age of five years old. They both preceded her in death. She married John Rose March 3, 1949 at the Presbyterian Church in Nowata. She received her education at Childers Grade School and Nowata High School. She attended Licensed Practical Nursing School and received her license in 1954. She was employed at the Nowata Clinic Hospital, Nowata General Hospital, Washington County Hospital in Bartlesville, and she also worked private duty in home nursing. She spent her whole life caring for people. She owned and operated Rose Beauty Shop for sixteen years and had a home rental service since 1955. She and her husband owned and operated a ranch west of Nowata until their divorce in 2003. After living in Coffeyville and Bartlesville, she returned to Nowata and made her home there until she died. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Darlene was a feisty woman and will be missed by all who knew her. Darlene is survived by her daughter, Linda Carter and her husband George of Nowata; a brother, Buster Beebe of Lake Isabella, California; a sister, Lorene Patterson of Overland Park, Missouri; two grandchildren, Chris Partain of Nowata and John Partain and his wife Nancy of Nowata; five great grandchildren, Jessica Farrow and husband Thomas of Nowata, Justin Partain and wife Kaylee of Nowata, Courtney Brown of Nowata, Nicole Brown of Mounds, Dustin Brown of Mounds; three great-great-grandchildren Rowdy and Rylan Farrow and Kaydence Partain, all of Nowata, and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Ramona Boyd, Katheryn Ritchie, Hazel Boyd, and Marie Gaylord. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service.
