David Kropff

David L. Kropff, 88, a resident of Grove passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 9, 2009. He was born on March 8, 1921 in Amarillo, Texas to John Leon and Laura Bell (Albert) Kropff. He graduated with the class of 1938 from Nowata High School. On November 24, 1940 David Married Leona Cooper, together they had three children Jerry, Linda and Betty. He moved to the Grove and Fairland area in 1955. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fairland. In school David was very good at basketball and after graduating played baseball in some leagues. He liked to fish, hunt, and bowl. The thing he was most proud of is his family. Mr. Kropff was preceded in death by his parents John and Laura his wife Virginia Featherston Kropff in June of 1995 along with two sisters Pearl Nichols and Dorothy Maurro. Survivors include a son Jerry Kropff and his wife Madeline of Afton, two daughters Linda Gregory and her husband Bill of Grove, Betty Wilmoth and her husband Stanley of Fairland, step-children are Deanna Thrash of Rogers, Arkansas and Randy Featherston and his wife Becky of Bentonville. Seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren are also surviving. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 11, 2009. Services will be 2:00 P M on Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove with Reverend Carole Minter officiating and Reverend Dave Talle assisting. Interment will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Casketbearers will be David Wilmoth, Tom Wilmoth, Jason Kropff, Troy Thorpe, Bobby Campbell and Neil Stone. The family has ask that memorial contributions be made to Fairland United Methodist Church and Good Shepherd Hospice of Grove.
