David Speer

WORLEY-LUGINBUEL FUNERAL HOME. 711 South Main Grove, OK 918-786-2261------ David E. Speer passed away at the Integris Grove Hospital on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the age of 83. David was born on May 29, 1930 in Carthage, MO, the son of the late Omer A. Speer and Martha (Hensley) Speer. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, playing cards, and playing with his grandkids. David married Joann Davis on October 2, 1965 in Wichita, Kansas; they celebrated 48 years of marriage in 2013. They enjoyed spending time at the lake throughout their marriage and bought a place at the lake and upon retirement moved to there full time. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Ira Wayne Speer and Arvey Lee Speer; two sisters: Goldie Cash and Ruby Hayes; one son-in-law, Ron Brunner the spouse of Diana Brunner; and one niece Norie Jones and her husband Hershal Jones. He is survived by his wife Joann Speer; five children: Mike Speer, Diana Brunner, Phyllis Davis, Larkin Davis, and Rick Speer; one sister Sue Graves; one nephew Archie Cash; two nieces: Patsy Hill and Harlene Curtis; 10 grandchildren: Rebecca Hodson, DiRhonda Wilder, Amber Lee, Tera Lopez, Carie Beeler, Chris Speer, Sam Davis, David Speer, Dustin Speer, and Anita Anderson; 17 great grandchildren: Wyatt Hodson, Avry Hodson, Sydney Lopez, Isaac Lopez, Audry Beeler, Colson Beeler, Alexander Speer, Celeste, Stephanie, Halee Speer, Edward Speer, Serena Gonzales, Andrew Gonzales, Kimberly Deason, Lorren Lee, Ronald Lee, and Seth Lee; two great-great grandchildren: Isabella Deason and Elizabeth Hedgpath; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, OK on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 2PM with Pastor Tony Newby, presiding. The burial will follow at the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Grove, OK. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 6PM to 8PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Friends and family may leave notes of encouragement by viewing David's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Casket bearers will be Mike Speer, Larkin Davis, Chris Speer, Archie Cash, Bill Lee, and Cody Deason. Honorary casket bearers will be Rick Speer, David Speer, and Seth Wilder.
