David Surguy

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261. David Neil Surguy, 70 year old resident of Grove, Oklahoma passed away on March 18, 2018 at Freeman West in Joplin, Missouri. David was born on March 24, 1947 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was the son of James and Opal Mae (Lehrling) Surguy. After graduating high school from Bartlesville, he attended four years of Business College. David proudly served in the Army, Air Force and The National Guard for a total of 20 years of service. David worked as an Aviation Safety Inspector for the FAA; he kept the air transportation system safe, and is responsible for the safety of everyone who boards an airplane, as well as those remaining on the ground. David and his wife Elizabeth Rose (Kozak) Surguy relocated to Grove in 2006. David was preceded in death by his parents James and Opal Surguy. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Rose Surguy of the home, three sons: Chad Allen and his wife Jamie of Owasso, Oklahoma, Jeremy Thomas of Parkville, Missouri and Adam Hill of Ottawa, Kansas, his daughter Melanie Schmitt and husband Mario of Horton, Kansas, his brother John Surguy of Oologah, Oklahoma and sister Lynda Hitch of Guymon, Oklahoma. David was blessed with eight grandchildren; Mikayla, Madison, Mason Schmitt, Chevelle Thomas, Alyssa, Alexis, Alayna Allen, and one great grandchild, Grayson Isaacs. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma with Mario Schmitt officiating. Honoring David's life serving as honorary bearers will be Gary Kratochvil, John Epperson, Pete Silva and Phil Kozak.
