Delila "Dee" Denbo, age 95, a lifelong resident of Bartlesville died Tuesday January 31, 2006 in a local care center. Delila "Dee" Denbo was born in the Sunset Lake area Indian Territory, August 25, 1910, the daughter of Daniel Moon and Dillie Belle (Johnson) Moon. She attended school in Bartlesville. Delila went to work for the South Western Bell telephone company where she was a local operator from 1928 - 1947. Mr. Orman "Denny" Denbo and Delila (Moon) Denbo were united in marriage July 3, 1936 in Nowata, Oklahoma. They were married for Forty-Five years before he preceded her in death in 1981. Mrs. Denbo was very active in the local community. She was a member of The Indian Women's Club, Extension Homemakers, Bartlesville Art Association, a life member of the Washington County Historical Society, Fidellis Sunday School Class - First United Methodist Church of Bartlesville, American Legion Auxiliary and Miscellaneous others. Mrs. Denbo is survived by her niece Carol Ann and her husband Benny Dunkle of Bartlesville and many other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Denbo is preceded in death by her husband Mr. Orman J. "Denny" Denbo, her parents Daniel Moon and Dillie Belle (Johnson) Moon, one brother Bill W.M. Moon, three sisters Lora May Moon, Viola Bonjoroni and Leona Close. Funeral services for Mrs. Denbo will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, February 3, 2006 in the Colonial Chapel of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Dr. Paul Bowles of the First United Methodist Church of Bartlesville, Ok. will preside over the services, with interment to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. A memorial has been established with the Carter Hospice and those who wish to contribute may do so in lieu of flowers to the Carter Hospice, 2448 SE Washington Blvd., Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006, or to the charity of choice.
