Delmer Ross

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma, 918-786-2261.Delmer C. Ross, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa Ok. on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the age of 93. Delmer was born on December 10, 1923 in Dennis, OK. The son of the late Ernest and Ruth (Swogger) Ross of Grove, Ok. Delmer attended Oak Grove School through the 8th grade, then attended Grove High School. Later he worked in Kingman, Kansas where he operated and maintained and drove large farm equipment Dad was called to service in WWII for the Army stationed in Sicily, Italy as part of the 85th Infantry. Dad served on the front lines for 6 months where he received two Bronze Stars. After the War, he went to the state of Washington, met and married Grace Dzutsoff in Raymond. In 1965 the family moved to Grove, OK to be near family and familiar ground for Delmer. He was a man of many talents, who would take little and work with what he had. Many persons would questioned, ‘How did he do that", that was Del. He was gifted in understanding when many would have a puzzled look about his knowledge. Del loved the Lord and made it known, "time is near for His coming". One wish he had was to go as he lived, "simple". He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Grace, his parents, and two sisters Bonnie Mestrovich and Sylvia Williams. He is survived by five children: Wanda K. Ross of Tulsa, Linda M. Ross of Springdale, AR. Ronda F. Ross of WA., Donald J. Ross of Tulsa and Ronald Ray Ross of Tulsa, OK, four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister June Rose Blevins Kinsey of Yakima, Washington. Many cousins, nephews and nieces. Visitation at the Worley - Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove Thursday July 20, 2017, 6:00 to 8:00 PM Graveside and Military Rites Services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 am at Zena Cemetery, Zena, OK .
