Funeral services for Dessie Irene Paige are 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Ben Killion officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will be receiving friends Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Dessie Irene Paige, 89, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Perry Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry, OK. She was born January 15, 1926 in Birch Tree, Missouri to William Leroy and Flora Idella (Bell) Woods. She attended Armstrong Schools and on June 21, 1941 she married the love of her life, J.D. Paige in Nowata. Irene was a true homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and fishing. She was a member of the Hillside Christian Church where she was in charge of the kitchen and made sure everything was always organized for church meals and gatherings. Above all, Irene held a special place in her heart for her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and other family members always knew they were special to her. She was a very sweet loving lady that was loved by all who knew her. She truly will be missed. Irene is preceded in death by her parents, William and Flora Woods; her husband, J.D. Paige, four siblings, Lucille Harvey, Don Woods, Viola Marshall, Flora Idella Woods. She is survived by two children, J.D. Paige Jr. and wife Christie, Janet Shannon and husband Mike; three siblings, Darlene Stashelm, Gayle Robby, Diana Marshall; three grandchildren, Erin Shannon and wife, Kim, Dana Hayes and husband Jerry, Candy Murnan and husband Shawn, and eleven grandchildren.
