Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma 918-253-3222. Dewey Fredrick Stanford, 81 year old resident of Jay, Oklahoma passed away on December 31, 2016 in Joplin, Missouri. Dewey F. was born on November 21, 1935 in Wilson, Oklahoma. He was the son of Dewey James and Edna J. (Burris) Stanford. Dewey proudly served in the United States Air Force. Dewey was responsible for refueling jets in mid flight. Dewey F. spent most of his life living in the Southwest region of Missouri including Aurora, Joplin, and Monett. He was a Southern Baptist Minister who loved sharing the gospel. Dewey F. moved to Jay, Oklahoma about a year ago to be with his son. Dewey F. was preceded in death by his parents, and one son Jimmy Stanford. Dewey F. will be dearly missed by his two sons Dewey James Stanford, II and his wife Amy of Jay, Oklahoma, and James Stanford and his wife Mindy of Joplin, Missouri, one sister, Kathy Jackson and her husband Cliff of Jay, Oklahoma. Dewey F. was blessed with several grandchildren. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma.
