Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK....918-786-2261....Mr. Don G. Smith, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Monkey Island, Oklahoma on Saturday January 10, 2015. Don was born on November 9, 1935 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. A true "Saltwater Cowboy" Don enjoyed many years in Oklahoma and Florida before retiring to his home in Monkey Island in 2009. Don's career path encompassed a myriad of different interests such as teaching, ranching, and sales. His true passion was Fitness, and enjoyed much success opening multiple health clubs throughout the Southeast. His friends and neighbors would often see him riding his bike all over the island; Don was happiest when he was outside doing some sort of physical activity. He firmly believed that fitness brought a necessary balance to people's lives and was a shining example of this throughout his 79 years. Survivors include his four children, Curtis, Jett, Matt and Shannon, and seven grandchildren, Ryan, Brett Kayley, Cole, Griffin, Harley and Tristan. He was preceded in death by his brother Carl and his first wife, Kay. Funeral services will be held at Christ Church, 56900 E. Hwy 59, Fairland on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Baser, presiding.
