Donny Minson

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555 --- Donny Leon Minson, 83 year old Pensacola resident, passed away on Saturday September 27, 2014 at his home. He was on June 14, 1931, northwest of Vinita to John William "Bill" Minson and Nellie F. (Muncy) Minson. On August 13, 1955 Donny married Alma Epperson at the Bunker Hill Baptist Church west of Vinita. He worked in construction, farming and ranching. Donny was a member of the Otterbein Methodist Church and formerly a member of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed hunting quail, fishing, dancing, John Deere Tractors and good music. Donny also took pleasure in taking care of his horses and cattle. He was a wonderful father, husband and grandfather. Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters, Imogene Ramsey and Geneva Jackson; brothers, Bill, Glen and Tom Minson. The family includes; his wife Alma of the home; daughters, Sherry Hayes and husband John of Pensacola, Gayle Blanchard and husband Don of Verdigris; son Mike Minson and wife Sharon of Pensacola; brothers, Bob Minson and wife Betty of Miami, Louis Minson and wife Helen of Vinita; sister in-laws Margaret Minson of Watertown, South Dakota and Frances Minson of Duncan; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday September 30, 2014 at the Luginbuel Chapel in Vinita. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Justin Turner officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
