Dorcas Brewer

Dorcas F. Brewer, 81 year old Zena resident, went home to Lord on Friday, April 10, 2020.  Dorcas was born in Turkey Ford on June 23, 1938 to William and Sarah Jackson.  She attended Delaware Schools until 10th grade.  On August 23, 1957 she was united to the love of her life, Cephus Brewer in Miami, OK.  Dorcas enjoyed tending to her flower beds, working in the garden, sewing, and eating ice cream. Dorcas was  very strong christian and was an active member of Elk River Baptist Church as long as her health allowed. Dorcus was a very talented singer, she new most of the gospel songs by heart, and was always ready to sing a cappello.

Survivors include her son, C. J. Brewer and wife Kay of Zena, grandchildren: Tommy Brewer and wife Melanie of Excelsior Springs, MO, and Barbara Lewis and husband Rusty of Zena, and 6 great grandchildren: Makaya, Jacey, Keelin, Tate, Claudia, and Markus.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son Curtis Brewer, and siblings: June Husong, Sherman Jackson, Chris Jackson, Richard Jackson, Phyllis Jackson, and Larry Jackson.
