Dorothy Downing

Dorothy Mae (Mosby) Downing, age 69, died on March 25, 2010 at her residence in Jay, Oklahoma. The daughter of Lester and Viola (Wasmer) Mosby, was born on April 3, 1940 in Las Animas, Colorado. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, sewing clothes, camping and when she was able, playing the piano. She was a member of the Souls Harbor Church in Jay, Oklahoma. Her parents and one daughter Carol Jean Downing preceded Dorothy in death. Survivors include her husband John Downing, one son Ralph Downing of Jay, three daughters Kassie Downing of Jay, Juanita Pitts of Jay, and Brenda Edwards of Tahlequah, five grandchildren; Samantha Burleson, Jennifer Yochum, Michael Downing David Downing, and Cheyenne Downing, one brother Raymond Mosby of Mexico and one sister Pat Anderson of Portis, Kansas. A visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M., Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be Monday, March 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kenneth Cope officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Richard Hughes, Steven Hughes, Fred Hughes, Brandon McDonald, Allen Yocham and Johnathan Kreutzer.
