Dorothy Mae Jane Walker 66 year-old Ketchum area resident died Sunday October 1, 2006 in Tulsa. She was born September 30, 1940 in Vian, Oklahoma to Ermel David and Lois B. (Cantrell) Hendrix. Dorothy married Carl Thomas Walker on December 7, 1956 in Tulsa. They made their home in Pryor for many years, before moving to the Ketchum area 13 years ago. Dorothy was a member of the Pryor First Baptist Church and attended Cowboy Junction. Dorothy worked as record keeper for Pryor Stockyards and for a trucking company, she also ran the Pryor Daylight Donut Shop for many years. One accomplishment Dorothy was especially proud to be the first woman in Oklahoma to set diamonds. Dorothy loved to garden and work with flowers, but most of all she loved her grandchildren, papa and ninja. The family includes: her husband Carl of the home, her children, Ermel D. Miller of Tulsa, Carla Mae Walker of Corning, Ohio, Debbie Ann Huffstutter, currently in Iraq, Sherry Lee Drummond of Houston, Texas, and Kay Lynne Walker-Lamb of Pryor. Two sisters, Wanema Roberts of Coweta and Lynda Kay Evans of Skiatook, 19 grandchildren, including those grandchildren who were with her at the time of her death, Kailey, Heather, Lacy and Pauletta Lamb; also 8 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives survive. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at Cowboy Junction in Vinita, with Pastor Wade Markham officiating. Interment will follow at the Ketchum Cemetery.
