Douglas Klinger

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK 918-786-2261 Douglas Dewight Klinger, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, November 4th 2015 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 67. Doug was born on December 28, 1947 in Kildare, Oklahoma. He attended junior high and high school in Ponca City, Oklahoma and graduated from Ponca City high School in 1966. Doug served several tours in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in savings and loans in the banking industry following his service to his country. He then worked at Conoco in Ponca City, Oklahoma as a pipe fitter and retired from there. Doug married Gladys (Elliot) Ramsey in 1976. He was a wonderful husband to her and they lived many happy years in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Doug enjoyed fishing, golfing collecting antiques and most of all, his OSU Cowboys. Doug is survived by his two daughters, Jackie and Ron Brown of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Shelly and James Overbey of Fayetteville, Arkansa,s two sisters, Wanda Morgan of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Doris Craycraft and her husband Don of Chandler, Oklahoma, sister in law Shirley Klinger of Ponca City, Oklahoma; sister in law Frances Klinger of Paducah, Kentucky; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Doug was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Louise Klinger, his parents August and Thelma Klinger; three sisters, Ruth Klinger, Vivian Tipton and Linda Danner; two brothers, Kenneth Klinger and Richard Klinger, brother in law, Richard Morgan. Funeral services for Doug will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday November 9th, 2015 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grove, Oklahoma with Reverend Todd Harrison officiating. Graveside services wll be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Blackwell Cemetery in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Serving as honorary casket bearers will be James Overbey Jr., Jeremy Evean, Bron Overybey, and Josh Bostick Notes of encouragement for the family may be left at www.honoringmemories.com
