Earl Strack

March 14, 1927 — April 25, 2008

Earl Dean Strack was born March 14, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri to Earl E. and Edith Strack. His family soon moved to Chanute where he spent most of his childhood. At the age of 17, he went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad, and it was during this time he met his future wife, Eileen Anderson. The two were married in 1945 and had two sons, Dean A Strack and Gary L Strack. Earl served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947, during World War II. Earl also served on the Ronald Reagan Security Task Force. He served many positions with the Christian Church including Superintendent, Elder, Deacon, Song Leader, Youth Sponsor, and also served on the Church's Board of Directors. Earl Strack was active in civic organizations including serving as City Councilman for Humboldt, KS and served in numerous community activities. Earl is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Grace Strack of 63 years and son Gary Lee Strack. He has two surviving sisters, Geniveve Miles and Evelyn Fraser. He had two grandchildren, Stephanie Dangerfield and Travis Strack and six great grandchildren. His extended family includes Ladine Boyle of Grove, Justin and Lorie Hicks of Collinsville, and John and Leslie Boyle of Atlanta, GA, along with many nieces and nephews, close friends and coffee buddies. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his son, Dean, and two sisters, Majorie and Myrna. Memorial Services will be at the First Christian Church in Grove, OK at 10:30am on Saturday, May 3, 2008. Memorial services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Graveside services to be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, KS Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11:00 am. The family has ask that memorial donations be made to Shiloh Christian Children's Ranch or the American Diabetes Association both can be sent to the charity or care of the funeral home.
