Edith Davis

Edith Chestine Davis, age 89, Bartlesville resident, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 in St. John Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Edith was born on May 17, 1923 at Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Jesse Filmore Jackson and Agnes Christine (Blalack) Jackson. She was the oldest of her siblings, Charles George Jackson, Elizabeth Faye Matlock, Florence May Keller, Betty Charlene Smith and Jackie Sue Sires. Edith was married to James William "Bill" Davis on January 8, 1942 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where they made their home. Bill and Edith were the parents of one son, Michael Wayne "Mike" Davis and one daughter, Nancy Renee Duede. Edith worked for many years and retired from the Phillips Petroleum Co. Men's Club. She is survived by her son, Mike Davis of Bartlesville; one granddaughter, Trisha Davis also of Bartlesville; one grandson, Jason Duede of Barnsdall, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Charlene Smith of Bartlesville and Jackie Sue Sires of Ochelata, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Jackson and Agnes Barnett; her husband, Bill; and daughter, Nancy Duede; her brother, Charles George Jackson; her sisters, Elizabeth Faye Matlock and Florence May Keller; her maternal grandmother, Mattie Elizabeth (Tuner) Blalack Duke; and several nieces and nephews.
