Edna Denney

Edna Jean (Pitman) Denney on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior. Edna passed due to complications from her chronic breathing conditions while at home.

Edna was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma on August 27, 1952 to Oscar F. Pitman and Zeola Mae (Napier) Pitman. She was raised in Henryetta with her siblings Eunice Pitman (deceased), Richard Oliver (Texas), Dovie Rose (deceased), Francis Mulvehill (deceased), Rejoyce Taylor (San Antonio, TX), Patrick Pitman (Tulsa, OK), Michael Pitman (Tulsa, OK), and Melissa Stokes (Henryetta, OK).

After graduating from OSU Tech in Okmulgee she launched a successful nursing career which she enjoyed for many years until retirement.

Edna will forever be cherished by her husband of many years, Mike Denney and by her son, Rodney Mayden of Grove, OK. She leaves her two grandsons Mathew Mayden (Shawnee, OK) and Nathan Mayden (Midwest City, OK) and one great grandchild. Additionally, she will be missed by her many surviving friends and family from all over including a majority located in California, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

For those wishing to offer condolences in person there will be a viewing on Monday June 28th from 3 to 5 p.m at Worley Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday June 29th at Olympus Cemetery in Grove, OK. Edna ’s family would like to express their gratitude for those who have offered their sentiments during this sad time.
