Emma Jane Lucas (White) 91 passed away Febuary12, 2025. She was born November 24, 1933, in Dewey Oklahoma at the home of Jane Huff to Alice Jane Lucas (Pickett). Emma Jane grew up in a loving home surrounded by family with Grandparents Joseph and Emma Lucas, Delaware and Osage Heritage. Living in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, she graduated from College High School, meeting her future husband at the skating rink, Roger G White. On their first date she had one of her girlfriends in the backseat. She was worried, he was older and a world traveler, after all he toured Korea twice.
Together our parents sewed a life of faith, love and family. Like Emma Jane's (EJ) love of sewing you could see each stitch she sewed become a form of art and love for her family building a larger story.
The successful businesses our parents owned through their life were not what defined them, but rather their family. Their life of faith is one you could see. Walking hand and hand everywhere they went to sitting on the same side of the table while eating out. A true love story with 69 years of marriage.
Dad's ability to build anything led him to his passion to build and design experimental airplanes. Both lifetime members of EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association EAA 41&41B) during their life they volunteered countless hours and decades during the EAA fly-in at Oshkosh Wisconsin. They were in the Honda Gold Wing Club and enjoyed traveling across the country. Winter vacations snow skiing in Colorado were always a great family tradition. EJ was an avid bowler, bowling with the same close friends for almost 30 years. She spoke highly of them and their trips to tournaments. Her pies were legendary bringing bids over $100.00 at church and EAA chapter 10 auctions.
She had many titles in her life with the most important ones being Mom and Grandma. The constant caregiver to all led to a life filled with love and grace towards others. She truly left an impact on her family and will be missed.
Emma Jane is survived by three children; Jolene Schmidt and husband Glen of Wyandotte, OK., Jane Daugherty of Blue Eye, MO., and Mark White and wife Margo of Lee’s Summit, MO., Roger and Emma Jane were blessed with four grandchildren; Gabriel (Courtney) Schmidt, Bethany Schmidt, Cassandra Daugherty, and Makenzie Wittmaier (Josh), and nine great-grandchildren; George, Rosa, Emmalin, Titus, Grace, Luke, (Schmidt) Ellie, Walker, Willow, (Wittmaier) and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roger G White, Parents, and Brother Alfred Joseph Pickett of Bartlesville, OK. She was the last surviving member of her family’s generation having had many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 with funeral services starting at 10 a.m. Emma Jane will be laid to rest in Silver Lake Cemetery in Bartlesville the same day.
To those who managed to keep up with our parents 15 plus moves in their lives, come and help us celebrate a life well lived.
Oh, and about all the moving I'm not sure why, but no matter where we lived Mom had a gift making us kids feel safe and loved in our new home the first night.
Both our parents truly left their fingerprint on the hearts of those they met and loved.
We have hope and faith in Christ until we meet again.
Special thank you to Grandwood Assisted Living for giving our parents the quality of life in their later years.
