Ernest Ilo Landers passed away Thursday October 24, 2019 in Vinita, Ok. He was born May 28, 1926 the son of Elman Webb Landers and Dorothy Susan (Rogers) Landers. Ilo was raised and attended school in Vinita. He joined the US Navy in 1943, after discharge he served in the US Army on Eisenhower’s guard. He returned to Vinita after his service to his country and worked on the Halsell Ranch and Mullendore Ranch. Ilo then attended Okmulgee Technical Institute learning automobile body repair and painting. He married Elizabeth “Lib” Ann Bingham on August 18, 1954 in Denver Colorado. Ilo worked at Eastern State Hospital and the Vinita Police Department, in later years he was employed as a painter for the Will Rogers Turnpike until his retirement. He was always working on projects around the house and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Ilo was preceded in death by his three sons, Dewayne, Enos and Gene Landers; sister, Lowetta Hildebrand and brother, Edward Landers.
Survivors include His wife Elizabeth “Lib” Ann Landers of the home Vinita; daughters, Kathy Creamer of Oklahoma City, OK, Gina Sue Landers of Big Cabin, OK; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a close family friend Judy Harbour of Vinita.
A family visitation will be held Sunday October 27, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be Monday October 28, 2019 2:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Andrew Spooner officiating.
