Faye Terry

Faye (Springer) Bacon-Terry, age 88, passed away on October 14, 2019 in Joplin, Missouri.

Faye was born on January 22, 1931 in Red Oak, Oklahoma to F.E. and Thelma (Warren) Springer.  She married Luchion Bacon on June 15, 1948 and they moved to the Zena area.  Luchion and Faye had 2 children, Linda and Larry.  Luchion passed away in 1989.  In 1992, Faye married Jim Terry and moved to the Paradise Point area where she lived until her passing.  Jim passed away in 2006.

Faye had worked for the Stoney Point Lodge which belonged to Public Service Company for almost 9 years.  Then Faye went to work at Grove General Hospital where she worked in the dietary department.  Faye worked there for 17 ½ years, the last 8 years, as the dietary manager.  She retired in 1993.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her two husband and two grandsons; James Creig Wilson and David Lee Brixey, two sisters; Edith Springer-Woodruff and Ellie Springer-Carter, three brothers; Paul, Lester and Roy Springer.

Faye is survived by her two children; Linda and Dale Wilson, Larry and Leona Bacon, three grandchildren; Jennifer Ryan & John Lewis, Craig & LeAnn Bacon and Alisha Bacon. She was blessed with seven great-grandchildren; Lillian & Carmen Bacon, Jordan & Tristan Ryan, Kristi Brixey, Brandi Cappello and Tommy Brixey, their mother Lisa Brixey and Jeremy Johnson, her “special daughter” Janice Bryant, three brothers; Johnny Springer and wife Francis, Ray Springer and friend Juanita Wilson and Floyd Springer and friend Nancy Roe. She will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Faye was loving known to her Paradise Point friends as “Aunt Faye”.

An open visitation will be held from 8AM – 8PM, Thursday, October 17, 2019.  Services are scheduled for 10 AM, Friday, October 18th, both at the Grove Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel.  Faye will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Zena Cemetery.  Online condolences can be made at www.honoringmemories.com
