Foster Charles Boop II, 74, of Carlsbad, California passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009 at the Life Care Nursing Home in Escondido, California. Foster was born on October 10, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri to Foster Charles and Margaret May (Jones) Boop. He attended Nowata Public schools and graduated from Nowata High School. Foster then obtained his degree in accounting from the University of Oklahoma. He married Charlotte Darnold on August 29, 1959 at the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Following college, Foster served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant. His service to his country took him to San Diego, California where he and Charlotte started their family. Following his Navy service, Foster worked for General Dynamics for 32 years later opening Boop Tax Service which he operated for 18 years. Foster was a devoted Christian attending the Pacific View Baptist Church in California. He had a servant's heart and gave everything he could to his family and friends. Foster enjoyed deer hunting, completing his genealogy research, and fishing; one of his favorite places to fish for salmon was the Campbell River in Canada. He enjoyed traveling the world and some of the places he visited included: Greece, Israel, and Europe. Foster is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Charlotte, his 2 sons Foster Scott Boop and his wife Rosalyn of Murrieta, California and James Darnold Boop of Escondido, California, his 4 granddaughters Emily Boop, Madeleine Boop, Anna Boop, and Molly Boop, and 1 life long friend Jay Smith of Edmond, Oklahoma. Graveside services for Mr. Boop will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Tom Tanquary officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Foster's name to the: American Brain Tumor Association 2720 River Road Des Plaines, IL 60018 www.abta.org.
