Frances Martin

Frances Elizabeth “Ramsey” Martin, eighty-year-old Vinita resident passed away at her home Saturday September 14, 2019 with all her family present. Frances was born September 13, 1939 in Vinita, Oklahoma, the daughter of Roy “Buck” Ramsey and Imogene “Minson” Ramsey. She attended Vinita schools and graduated with the Class of 1958. Frances was a wife and homemaker to Clifton Martin for fifty-six years. Cliff preceded her in death on September 30, 2018. Frances and Cliff lived northwest of Vinita on a little farm where they raised cattle, goats, and chickens. Cliff worked for the State Highway Department for twenty-seven years while Frances was a cook at area nursing homes for many years. They had a passion for square dancing, driving teams of horses, and going to wagon races. Frances in her later years, decided to start going to bingo and loved it. Every Saturday you could find her going to garage sales. Frances enjoyed cast iron cooking, and most of the time her younger sister Ruth Rathjen, would also join her.

Frances is survived by two sisters: Deane Mae “Ramsey” Sturdivant of Vinita and Ruth “Ramsey” Rathjen of Vinita; two brothers, Roy E. Ramsey of Vinita and Larry Glenn Ramsey and wife Becky of Pryor; nieces, Robyn “Sturdivant” Gaskill of Vinita, Sandy Schultz of Centralia, Candace Rathjen of Vinita, Tami Rice of Langley, Braidie Dingmon and husband Troy of Pryor, Ashley Ramsey of Chouteau; nephew, Chey Ramsey and wife Kari of Fairland; great nieces and nephews, Lyndie McKinney and son Briar of Bluejacket, Joshua McKinney and wife Melaine and their son Asher of Jenks, Timothy Wickliff and Children Craton, Isiah and McKenze of White Oak; Kori Speer of Clayton, New Mexico, Wyatt Speer of Vinita, Rowdy Rice of Vinita, Jaci and husband Justin and their children Piper, Saylor and Jasper Bucks, Bailey Ramsey of Nowata, Karsyn Nowlin of Vinita, Dawson and Carter Ramsey of Fairland, Payton Dingmon of Pryor, Caleb, Creed, and Tinlee Ramsey of Chouteau, along with many other relatives and a host of friends.

The family is planning a come and go visitation on Sunday September 22, 2019 all day at the family home in Vinita.
