Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma, 918-786-2261.......Gayle Arlene Sprague Potter, born November 7, 1916 in Fairbanks, Iowa died April 19, 2019 in Marietta, Georgia, at the age of 102. Gayle is a graduate of Fayette Iowa High School. Married to Virgil L. Potter June 10, 1935 in Fayette, Iowa; Virgil preceded her in death in 1996; they were married just over 60 years. Virgil and Gayle moved to Northeastern Oklahoma in 1942 and settled in Grove to be near the Lake. Gayle and Virgil had two daughters. The oldest daughter, Juanita (Skeet) Mae Cook and husband Walter S. Cook, preceded her in death. Her one surviving daughter is Verna Rae Caudle and husband Russell G. Caudle, of Acworth Georgia. Gayle has six grandchildren Phyllis A. Robinson, Brian P. Cook (Debby), Virgil L. Cook (Donna), Kenneth D. Cook, Brent L. Rose (Chrissy) and Melissa K. Rose. Thirteen (13), great grandchildren and ten, (10) great-great grandchildren. Gayle worked at the State Bank of Grove prior to working over twenty years for the Grove Municipal Services Authority and unofficially she was the after-hours answering service for Grove, Public Service Electric office. During bad weather she was prepared to feed the Public Service Line crew and make sure they had lots of hot coffee. She was a charter member of the Grove Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, and was named a life member in 1983. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Grove. She had many hobbies which included sewing, knitting, crocheting, fishing and other arts and crafts. She loved and entertained all of her grandkids, friends and neighbors.
Services will be Monday, April 29, 2019 at 10:00am at the Worley - Luginbuel Funeral Home. The interment will be in the Olympus cemetery
