Geneva Canatsey

Geneva E. Canatsey, 95 year old Vinita resident, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 23, 2013. Geneva was born in Craig County on October 19, 1917 to Ralph and Elsie (Roberts) Chamberlain. She worked in the meat department of Safeway for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vinita. Survivors include her son-in-law Earl Grumbein, grandchildren: Ronnie, Dale, Jody, Danny, Kathy, D.J., Debbie as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and sister Florence Foster of Tulsa. She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Elsie Chamberlain, husbands L. J. Drake and John Canatsey, children: Bob Drake, Delvin Drake, and Gwen Grumbein, siblings: Ruth Griffith, Leora Marquis, Ester Schwartz, and Edward Ralph Junior Chamberlain. Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church 321 W. Illinois Ave.Vinita, OK 74301 Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with Pastors Henry Haynes and Skip McClain officiating.
