Georgia H. Miller, 86-year-old Nowata resident, passed away at 12:50 p.m., Friday, April 14, 2006 at the Nowata Nursing Center. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be held at 10:00a.m., Monday, April 17, 2006 in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery with Ben Killion officiating. Services are under the direction of the Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata. Georgia H. Miller was born March 5, 1920 in Talala, Oklahoma to James C. Gross, Sr. and May Stanbery-Gross. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker for the greatest part of her life. She devoted her time to her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing and gardening and kicking back to read a good book. Mrs. Miller loved to sew and she also loved traveling everywhere from Colorado to California and Oregon. Mrs. Miller is survived by one daughter, Mary Black of Nowata; by one sister, Doris Sissom of Sand Springs; by two brothers, Gene Gross of Portland, Oregon and Elvin Gross of San Diego, California; by three grandchildren, Jeri Cruger of Collinsville, Robert Cullison, Jr. of Broken Arrow, and Christopher Cullison of Broken Arrow; and by eight great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, "Babe". Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, by eight brothers and sisters, and by two half-sisters.
