Geral Turk

Geral Dene Tyler was born on January 29, 1926 in Collinsville, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Ralph J. Tyler and Sylvia E. (Butts) Tyler. She grew up in the Collinsville community where she received her education. She graduated with the Sr. Class of Collinsville in 1944. Jerry was a life-long resident of the Bartlesville area community. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dewey, Oklahoma. Jerry and Robert E. "Bob" Turk were united in marriage on February 9, 1945 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bob preceded Jerry in death on September 23, 1998 after 53+ years of marriage. Jerry continued her home in the Bartlesville area before moving to Owasso in 2006 to be near family. Jerry was active in many organizations, two of which were the Pilot Club and Home Demonstration Club. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and traveling. Most important in her life were God and family. She especially enjoyed the grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; son, Robert E. Turk, Jr. in 1981; grandson, Douglas Turk in 2000; brother, Ralph Joe Tyler; and sister, Marquise Middleton. She is survived by son, Bill Turk of Bartlesville; daughters, Kay Hunnicutt and her husband, Ray, of Charleston, S. Carolina and Mary Pointer and her husband, Dick, of Owasso; eight grandchildren, Amy Garrard, Robert Hunnicutt, Brian Hunnicutt, Brooks Turk, Jennifer Taylor, Kathy Vermillion-Pittser, Tony Pointer and Richie Pointer; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a dear friend and caregiver, Teresa Goines and her little buddy, Kayden.
