Gerald Lee Anderson, 86 year old resident of Monkey Island, passed away on July 30, 2021.
Gerald was born on August 11, 1934 in Dewey, Oklahoma. He was the son of Andrew Jackson and Rosa Oral (Mason) Anderson. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Joyce Munsinger in June of 1953. Gerald was Vice President of Operations for Martin Marietta Aggregates, a leading supplier of construction aggregates and heavy building materials, with more than 400 locations spanning 26 states, Canada and the Caribbean.
Gerald was a great horseman, lived half the year on the Flying X Ranch in Wyoming where he was a ranch partner. He enjoyed riding horses, ranching, tending to the cattle, and hunting elk. Gerald was a pitcher for his high school baseball team going on to play semi-pro and on work company teams. He liked watching all sporting events, attending car shows and golfing.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce Anderson, and two brothers, Jack Anderson and Jim Anderson. He is survived by his three children, Roxanne Hagerman and husband Greg of Longmont, Colorado, Debra Thompson and companion Frank Bennet of Greeley, Colorado and Rodney Anderson and wife Elke of Springdale, Arkansas. Gerald was blessed with nine grandchildren: Alison, Sarah and husband Jeff, Evan, Kendra and husband Sean, Trevor, Cassie, Kimberly, Jonathan and Rebecka, also nine great-grandchildren: Jared, Levi, Thorne, Gaspar, Elijah, Kalani, Zane, Trey and Thalia, and one great-great grandchild: Malachiae. He is also survived by Kathy Barnes, many good friends on Monkey Island, Oklahoma and at the Flying X Ranch in Wyoming.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Dewey Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
