Gerald Morris Lewis Passed away November 26, 2019 at Miami, Oklahoma. He was born May 26, 1949 in Morris, Oklahoma the son of Gomer Morris and Lillie Mae (Davis) Lewis.

Gerald was raised in Henryetta, where he attended school and played in the marching band. He joined the US Airforce after graduating high school, serving numerous tours in Vietnam. Gerald married his childhood sweetheart Gwendolyn Herriman on May 14, 1968 in Poteau, Oklahoma. They lived in numerous places during his military career, their favorite being the Azores. During Gerald’s military career he was awarded the McKay trophy for flight of the year in 1986. He was a member of the original test team for the conversion of the DC10 airplane to the military KC10 airplane. When Gerald graduated from high school, he told his friends he was going to surround himself with women and he did, a wife and three daughters. He attended Trinidad College after retiring from the Airforce graduating with a degree in gunsmithing. Gerald moved back to Oklahoma in 1990 where he lived the remainder of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Amber Lewis, sisters Joan Milligan, Sue Scott, and a brother Max Lewis.

Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Lewis of the home; daughters, Meschell Klinglesmith and husband Mike of Miami, Oklahoma, Lana (Kathy) Rhode and husband Rodney of Carmargo, Oklahoma; grandchildren Michael Bullock, Johnathan Rhode, Victoria Tressler, Destiny Rhode, Cordell Rhode, Nina Rhode and nine great grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, December 04, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery will military honors.
