Gladys Minnick

Gladys Vione Minnick, age 95, of the Afton - Cleora area died Tuesday January 13, 2009 at Rosewood Terrace in Vinita. She was born August 2, 1913 in Childress, OK the daughter of Oscar F. Crupper and Gladys Marie Haifley Crupper. Gladys was reared and received her education in the Childress and Alluwe area graduating from Allouwe High School. She and Homer Minnick were united in marriage in Vinita on January 21, 1939 and moved from Oklahoma City to Cleora in 1968 where they made their home since. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ketchum united Methodist Church and the Craig County Demonstration Club and enjoyed painting, attending Church, traveling, music and spending time with her family. Gladys is survived by three children, Kay Minnick of Afton, Virginia Little of Muskogee, OK and Homer Minnick of Afton, one brother Jim Crupper of Oklahoma City, Dorothy Elsten of Pittsburg, KS, and Ruth Davis of Tulsa, OK, 17 grand children, 26 great grand Children and 18 great - great grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer in 1994, one daughter, Etta Layden, her parents, 2 brothers and 5 grand children. Graveside services will be Saturday January 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK with Rev. John Bloss officiating under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
