Glenn Franklin

Glenn LeRoy Franklin, 74 year old, Grove, Oklahoma resident passed away Wednesday May 23, 2012, in Grove, Oklahoma, with his family by his side. Glenn was born on April 29, 1938 in Great Bend, Kansas to DeVerne and Lena Franklin. Glenn graduated from St John High School in 1956. He then attended the University of Wichita, graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology. Glenn worked most of his life as a salesman. He loved the outdoors, working as a park ranger in Colorado. He also enjoyed photography, and to travel, as well as computers and the internet, regularly keeping up with family and friends. Glenn joined the First Christian Church in Grove, Oklahoma in the late 1970's, where he was very active in the choir because of his love of music. Above all Glenn loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jewel Franklin, son, Christopher Franklin, and siblings, George Franklin, Alice Freemen, and Olive Meyer. Glenn leaves many loving memories with his family; children, Perry Franklin of Springfield, Missouri, Milford Patterson and wife Susie, of Greensburg, Kansas, Sheila Dauber and husband Gerald, of Greensburg, Kansas, Wynona Hackler and husband David, of Wichita, Kansas, Francis Jane Miller of Miami, Oklahoma, Frank Patterson and wife Lee, of Wichita, Kansas, Larry Patterson and wife Lynn, of Florida, and granddaughter Alisa Baker and husband Eugene, of Grove, Oklahoma. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive Glen. Funeral services for Glenn will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Grove, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Ketchum Cemetery in Ketchum, Oklahoma. Open visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday May 25, 2012 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glenn's memory to the Memorial Rocky Mountain Nature Association (www.rmna.org) Friends and family made leave condolences at www.honoringmemories.com Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
